The Backwards Bike

This video  really got me thinking about the neurotransmitters at work here! At the end of the video, Destin relearned how to ride a normal bike.  I wonder if he struggled with the backwards bike again. It “appeared” that his brain could only manage one type of bike at a time.

Based on his theory though, and the writings in Elizabeth Barkley’s text, his brain should be able to develop new dendrites to retain the ability to ride both bikes eventually. An easier example of this would be switching between driving a car with an automatic transmissions versus a standard transmission. Once both are learned, it is easy to go back and forth between the two vehicles.
